About this role

Job Summary

Cardinal Correctional Care is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team working in a correctional institution setting as the Nurse Manager. This position will play a crucial role in providing quality patient care under the supervision of physicians as well as leading our teams of LVN's and RN's in Missouri. This position requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to improving patient outcomes through effective communication and clinical skills.

  • Lead and work with LVN's and RN's on site at various county jails in Central Missouri.

  • Work with Physicians and NP's to come up with care plans for patients.
  • Work with leadership to ensure facilities have coverage of staff.
  • Conduct physical examinations and assess patients' health status by taking vital signs and documenting findings.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Provide care for patients with infectious diseases, offering education on prevention and management.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans based on patient needs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care, including referrals to specialists when necessary.
  • Support behavioral health initiatives by recognizing mental health issues and providing appropriate interventions.

Skills

  • Proficient in medical terminology and understanding of internal medicine practices.
  • Strong ability to perform physical examinations and interpret vital signs accurately.
  • Knowledgeable in infectious disease care protocols and best practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Correctional Healthcare Experience is a PLUS but not mandatory.
