*Northbrook, *Illinois We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assisted Living / Memory Care RN Charge Nurse to lead our nursing team in providing exceptional care to residents with diverse needs, including those with dementia and other memory impairments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for enhancing the quality of life for seniors. As the Charge Nurse, you will oversee daily nursing operations, coordinate resident care plans, and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards while fostering a compassionate and supportive environment.

- Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations to ensure high-quality resident care.
- Coordinate and implement individualized care plans for residents, incorporating assessments and medical documentation.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately, including IV infusions and injections, following aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Monitor residents’ vital signs, conduct physical examinations, and assess health status regularly to identify changes or concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care strategies that address behavioral health, chronic conditions, and acute needs such as pain management or infectious disease care.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records using EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Lead emergency response efforts in critical situations, including trauma or acute care scenarios within a Level I Trauma Center environment if applicable.
- Facilitate staff training on topics like wound care (suturing), ostomy care, hospice & palliative medicine principles, and infection control practices.
*Skills*
- Extensive knowledge of geriatrics, dementia/dementia care (including Alzheimer’s care), and memory support strategies.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for medical documentation and patient record management.
- Strong clinical skills including medication administration, IV insertion, catheterization, tube feeding management, and basic life support certification.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health challenges in assisted living or long-term care settings.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards such as NCQA standards for quality assurance and HIPAA compliance.
- Critical care experience from hospital settings such as ICU or emergency room environments is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments utilizing physiology knowledge and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively triage urgent issues, educate residents and families, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
