Provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices and maintains office hours as directed by physician. Responsibilities include responding to telephone calls, instructing patients and families regarding medications and treatments, performing general nursing care, administering prescribed medications, arranging patient testing and admissions, preparing equipment and aiding physicians during treatment, maintaining patient records, overseeing appointment bookings, greeting and preparing patients for examination, attending meetings and committees, and observing/recording/reporting patient conditions and reactions to drugs and treatments.
Requirements
Two years to five years of similar or related experience
Two year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program
Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients
Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination
Standing and walking for extensive periods of time
Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 lbs
Corrected vision and hearing to normal range
Working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours
