VNA Hospice NWI is seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our team at our 6-bed inpatient hospice care center. Position Summary

The Inpatient Hospice RN provides skilled nursing care to hospice patients requiring symptom management and end-of-life care within our inpatient facility. The RN works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients receive compassionate, individualized care that promotes comfort and quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care according to hospice standards.
  • Monitor and manage pain and symptoms to ensure patient comfort.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Collaborate with physicians, social workers, chaplains, nursing assistants, and other interdisciplinary team members.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Respond effectively to changes in patient condition.
  • Ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for patients and families.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Current Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Previous hospice, palliative care, oncology, long-term care, ICU, ER, or acute care experience preferred.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
