Registered Nurse Trainer - Part Time Casual

Supports local management to develop direct care staff knowledge of medical procedures, medication administration, and healthcare procedures. Develops, implements, and trains on various health protocols. Support operations in admissions and discharges and ensures that all protocols and medical orders are transferred. Supports operations as needed with the ordering and disbursement of all prescribed and over the counter medications, appropriate medical supplies, and equipment for people supported. Disposes of unused or discontinued prescription meds as needed and as required by state law and regulation. Follows up on all medication errors and provides reports consistent with internal policies and procedures and local, state, or federal regulations. Maintains high level of awareness regarding the health and medical needs of people supported and provides medical information to necessary parties, in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Works closely with health and medical professionals within the community to ensure adequate care for the people supported. Understands and develops practices that align with state regulations, quality standards, and other health and safety regulations. Attends meetings and training as needed. Represents the company in a professional manner in the community. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding company information, including any information regarding people supported. Qualifications and Experience: Valid State driver's license 2 years of previous RN experience Must be able to pass company drug screen process (if applicable), Medicaid and Medicare fraud checks, a criminal background check, and an employment history verification Intermediate/Advanced understanding of technology and computer functions. Displays high integrity and exercises due diligence Acts decisively Focuses on customer needs Builds strong alliances Inspires high performance Maintains professional credibility Demonstrates astuteness Education: Valid nursing license issued from the State Board of Nursing Licensed Registered Nurse Ability to obtain the DHS RN Trainer certification within 30 days of start date Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) required Previous knowledge of providing nursing care to people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and/or Mental Health is preferred CPR/First Aid certification current
