About this role

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of patient care, medical procedures, and healthcare documentation, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional nursing services. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing client needs, administering treatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal health outcomes. This role offers an opportunity to work in diverse clinical settings, including acute care, long-term care, outpatient clinics, and specialized medical units.

Medication Assistance Supervising (MAS) Nurse

The MAS Nurse provides nursing oversight for medication administration and other delegated nursing tasks within an ADMH-certified residential program. The MAS Nurse trains, delegates to, supervises, and evaluates Medication Assistant Certified (MAC) Workers while promoting the health and safety of individuals served.

Duties

  • Complete nursing assessments and determine whether nursing tasks may be safely delegated.
  • Train and verify the competency of MAC Workers.
  • Monitor medication administration records, controlled-substance records, medication errors, and physician orders.
  • Provide ongoing supervision and remain available for medication or health-related concerns.
  • Conduct and document required annual MAC Worker competency evaluations.
  • Communicate with individuals, families, physicians, pharmacists, and agency staff.
  • Suspend or withdraw delegated duties when safe performance requirements are not met.
  • Maintain compliance with ADMH, Alabama Board of Nursing, and agency requirements.
  • Perform other nursing duties as assigned.

Minimum

Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted Alabama RN license.
  • Current ADMH-approved MAS Nurse certification.
  • Knowledge of medication administration, nurse delegation, documentation, and emergency procedures.
  • Strong assessment, teaching, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient education on health coaching topics such as nutrition or chronic disease management; adept at working with diverse populations including children and seniors.
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining safety standards across all clinical settings.
