About this role
Position Summary
Summary
The Nurse Practitioner assumes responsibility for the care provided to a selected number of patients. Consideration is given to the patient’s stage of development according to life cycle. The Nurse Practitioner acts in a collaborative role to facilitate and manage the pre-surgical evaluation of patients under the supervision and direction of an attending anesthesiologist. The Nurse Practitioner collaborates with the various departments utilizing pre-surgical processes to insure the accurate and timely exchange of information. Qualifications

Education Required
- Must complete in-house orientation program
- Master’s Degree from accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
Experience And Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Speaks, reads and writes English
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a RN
- Demonstrated competency as a Nurse Practitioner
License/Certifications
- Current NYS licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse
- NYS licensure as a Nurse Practitioner
- American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing
- Center (ANCC) certification as an Adult NP or Family NP or completion of certification within six months from date of hire.
- BLS required for all NP’s in PSE
- PALS required for Family NP’s in PSE
- ACLS preferred
