Summary

The Long-Term Care Nurse Manager oversees the delivery of high-quality nursing care to residents in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility. This role supervises nursing staff, coordinates resident care, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, and promotes a safe, compassionate environment that supports residents' physical, emotional, and psychosocial well-being.

Clinical Leadership

Manage and supervise licensed nurses, certified nursing assistants (CNAs), and other clinical staff.

Monitor resident care plans and ensure appropriate implementation.

Conduct clinical assessments and evaluate resident outcomes.

Respond to changes in resident conditions and coordinate interventions.

Participate in care conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings.

Staff Management

Recruit, orient, train, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff.

Develop staff schedules and manage staffing levels.

Promote professional development and continuing education.

Address performance issues and implement corrective actions when necessary.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Maintain adherence to facility policies and procedures.

Participate in quality improvement and infection prevention programs.

Prepare for and assist during regulatory surveys and audits.

Investigate incidents and implement corrective measures.

Resident and Family Relations

Communicate effectively with residents and their families regarding care needs and concerns.

Resolve complaints and facilitate positive resident outcomes.

Advocate for resident rights, dignity, and quality of life.

Operational Responsibilities

Monitor supply usage and budget considerations.

Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Collaborate with physicians, therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers.

Assist with emergency preparedness and response activities.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required .

Pay: $78.00 - $87.00 per hour Work Location: In person
