Mountain View Family Medicine is a Values-Based Primary Care clinic building the next generation of personalized medicine. We help patients discover their best self, have their best health, and live their most fulfilling life, as defined by them.

We are a small, collaborative practice where relationships, communication, clinical excellence, and personal responsibility matter. We are continually learning and improving how we care for our patients and work together as a team.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse who genuinely wants to lead people and own day-to-day clinical operations.

The Clinical Floor Manager provides leadership for our Medical Assistant team, and serves as the operational backbone of the clinical floor. This role requires someone who can see the whole picture—patients in the building, provider needs, staffing, clinical communications, inbox workflow, training, follow-through, and the unexpected things that happen every day in Primary Care. (And yes one person has been doing that for 33 years, and she will be your personal guide/mentor to make it a fun and collaborative place to work, and serve the community).

You will be expected to learn our practice first, build relationships, understand existing workflows and institutional knowledge, and then help us improve them collaboratively.

What You Will Own

As Clinical Floor Manager, you will

  • Lead, mentor, train, and develop the medical assistant team.
  • Establish clear daily MA assignments and ensure providers know how they are supported before the first patient arrives.
  • Oversee patient flow and prioritize the needs of patients actively receiving care in the clinic.
  • Maintain high standards for rooming, vital-sign accuracy, vaccine administration, clinical documentation, equipment, and patient safety.
  • Oversee clinical communication flow, including appropriate triage, delegation, escalation, and follow-through of patient messages and clinical inbox work.
  • Ensure urgent and time-sensitive clinical needs are addressed or clearly handed off.
  • Support providers by identifying problems early and helping resolve workflow gaps.
  • Create and maintain consistent MA onboarding and training standards.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for routine clinical-floor issues.
  • Communicate directly and collaboratively with providers, staff, and practice leadership.
  • Receive feedback openly, provide feedback constructively, and turn feedback into action masterfully:)
  • Help ensure each clinical day closes with nothing urgent, nothing unknown, and nothing unowned.

What We Are Looking For

  • We are looking for an RN who brings:
  • Clinical experience in Primary Care, Family Medicine, or another ambulatory setting. ( at least 3years)
  • A genuine desire to lead and develop people, (especially oneself), and not simply fill a clinical shift.
  • Calm, visible leadership and strong situational awareness.
  • Excellent prioritization and follow-through.
  • The desire to receive feedback knowing that it is given constructively, and the willingness to provide useful feedback to others as well.
  • A collaborative approach to change: understand first, then improve alignment with the Clinic vision.
  • The judgment to know when to solve a problem independently, when to collaborate, and when to escalate.
  • Comfort working in a small practice where communication is direct and relationships matter.
  • Experience mentoring or managing clinical staff strongly preferred.
  • Epic EMR experience preferred.

To Apply

Please submit your résumé and a brief note telling us why this kind of clinical leadership interests you and what effective leadership of an established clinical team looks like to you.
