Details Work in the PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) of a hospital setting 13-week assignment Day shift schedule (3x12 hours), with shifts from 7:00 AM-7:30 PM or 10:30 AM-11:00 PM Friday shift start times vary between 0700-1030, while Saturday and Sunday shifts start at 0700 No call responsibilities Patient ratio of 1:2 Care for pre and post-operative patients across a variety of surgical specialties including cardiac, neuro, ortho, vascular, and bariatrics Utilizes Epic charting system Requirements Active CA RN license required Current

BLS, ACLS, and PALS required CCRN, NIHSS, and TCAR certifications preferred Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required Community hospital experience required Teaching hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred Epic charting system experience required Skilled in airway management, ventilated patient care, and interpretation of ABGs Experience with cardiovascular procedures such as cardioversion and vascular surgery care preferred Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration Copies of all certifications required for consideration Additional Information Provide comprehensive pre and post-operative care including pre-op assessments, medication reconciliation, and patient education Support surgical cases spanning multiple specialties including neuro/spine, ortho, GI, GYN, and plastics Monitor patients under various anesthesia types including general, MAC, spinal, and nerve blocks Manage pain assessment, PCA pumps, and administer emergency medications as needed Charge experience preferred Must reside within a 50-mile radius to be eligible for the travel pay rate; candidates outside this radius may be considered at the local rate Returning employees must have a minimum 1-year separation before returning as a travel RN Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing First-time travelers may be considered for this role
