About this role
Registered Nurse position in the Operating Room at NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk. Executes professional nursing care in accordance with physician treatment plans to provide for the comfort and well-being of patients and their family or support system. Assesses patient needs, plans and implements treatment plans, observes and evaluates patient progress, and documents pertinent observations. Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary health team. Directs delivery of nursing care by other members of the nursing team. Participates in orientation of new employees.
Schedule:
6:30am–4:30pm Monday–Friday with rotating weekends.
Requirements
Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice from completion of two year training at an accredited School of Nursing
Current New York State license as a Registered Professional Nurse
BLS certification (through AHA)
De-escalation training
ACLS certification (through AHA) - for ICU, Float pool, Emergency Dept
TCAR Certification - for SICU, PACU
PALS and TNCC within first year - for Emergency Dept
Interpersonal skills to interact with patients and families recognizing cultural diversity
