About this role
At Willis Knighton Pierremont, our Acute Care Post Op unit consists of 30 beds and is located on the 5th floor. Our primary population of patients includes preoperative and postoperative patients. Our unit offers motivated nursing staff the opportunity to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that is committed to maintaining high standards of quality patient and family-centered care.
We have a model of healthy work culture in which we expect and maintain a respectful environment for each other as well as our patients and their families in every form of communication and all interactions. Our nursing staff gains advanced knowledge and skills that foster the development of critical thinking while understanding acute trauma, surgeries, and diagnosis that impact both patient and family. In this role, you will provide direct patient care related to monitoring, assessment, and treatment of various medical/surgical conditions.
Through this range of clinical experience, you will gain knowledge, confidence and build teamwork among your peers through shared experiences. Patient ratios range from 5–6 patients per nurse, depending on your assigned shift. Your orientation will include 12 weeks with a trained preceptor/mentor.
All new graduates and nurses with one year or less experience, will be enrolled in our Nurse Residency Program. If you are positive, collaborative, and willing to learn, then we would love to have you come join our TEAM!
