The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
The Clinical Informatics Specialist integrates clinical science with multiple information management and analytical sciences to identify, define, manage, and communicate data, information, knowledge, and wisdom in clinical practice.
The Clinical Informatics Specialist supports nurses, consumers, patients, the interprofessional healthcare team, and other stakeholders in the use of technology to support clinical care.
Activities include but are not limited to collaborating with customers and other IT team members to partner to define problems.
Participates in the design, development, implementation, education, and evaluation of technology in clinical areas.
In addition, they are responsible for advocacy, identification of issues, documentation, and escalation of issues.
The Clinical Informatics Specialist will work independently with individuals of other professions to maintain a climate of mutual respect and shared values.
They will communicate with patients, families, communities, and professionals in health and other fields in a responsive and responsible manner that supports a team's approach to the promotion and maintenance of health.
A typical day as a Clinical Informatics Specialist
The Clinical Informatics Specialist 3 is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Provides independent operational support to local team to provide customer support, rounding, education, implement clinical changes, coordinate and collaborate with local SME to plan, deliver, and evaluate changes related to the use of technology and data
- Independently ensures rigorous documentation of problems including audits, design sessions, planning, collaboration, and implementation activities (including but not limited to rounds and in-services)
- Ensures that all problems have discrete metrics of outcomes to ensure a scientific and rigorous approach to outcomes
- Maintains a culture within the team and with external collaboration upholding the RWJBH standards of ethics, culturally congruent practice, and communication/ collaboration
- Apply advanced information management skills and techniques to advance the Scope of Nursing Informatics Practice and education while also demonstrating leadership capabilities
- Acts as a resource for Level 1&2 Informatics Specialists
- Maintains the required professional development, competencies, and continuing education
- Collaborates independently with local SME s in Quality and Regulatory under the guidance of leadership to ensure optimal quality of practice by ensuring awareness and competency to new regulations
- Other duties as assigned by leadership
- Applicant is expected to obtain and maintain Epic certification as current in accordance with dept requirements

To Be Considered for this role you must have
Required: RN or clinical licensure in NJ,
Education
Bachelors degree required,
Certifications
Epic Clinical Informatics Accreditation and Nursing ANCC/ HIMSS certifications preferred,
Experience
3+ years of clinical experience with progressive leadership responsibilities and 2-3 years relevant informatics experience, Inpatient acute care unit & Standard office environment, Contact with PC s, Terminals, Printers and Computers, Potential exposure to hazardous materials and communicable diseases
