About this role
UNC Health is seeking an experienced nurse leader to serve as Director of Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC), providing system-wide leadership for the optimization, growth, and operational performance of our ambulatory surgery portfolio. This role will partner closely with physicians, nursing, anesthesia, finance, strategy, facilities, and executive leadership to drive quality, patient experience, operational efficiency, throughput, workforce engagement, regulatory compliance, and sustainable growth across the ASC portfolio. The position will also monitor evolving payer and reimbursement trends, helping ensure UNC Health remains well-positioned to deliver care in the most appropriate and cost-effective settings.
The ideal candidate is an experienced nurse leader with strong operational and financial acumen, deep expertise in ambulatory surgery center management and operations, and a proven ability to lead change for complex initiatives across a matrix health system. Experience with new facility activation, regulatory and accreditation preparedness, and physician partnership is highly desirable.
