RN MDS Coordinator $39-$42/HR Full-time days (Mon. -Fri.) Job Summary Cortland Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced MDS Coordinator (Director of MDS) to join our team in Cortland, New York. As a vital member of our rehabilitation and nursing center, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of the RAI MDS process from admission to discharge in accordance with company policy, state and federal guidelines, and other relevant entities. If you have a passion for providing high-quality patient care and a strong background in MDS, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity. Responsibilities and Duties Ensure the collection of resident information to allow for future assessments, including physical and mental states. Assume a leadership role in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement activities. Prepare and distribute clinical conference schedule. Conduct Medicare determinations on new admissions and re-admissions and notify families and the billing department accordingly. Prepare and track Medicare certifications and recertifications. Ensure the completion of all sections of facility MDSs. Coordinate insurance (Managed Medicare, Managed Medicaid, and Commercial) concurrent reviews. Initiate and track insurance appeals for admission denials and continued stay. Schedule UAS with Managed Medicaid providers on appropriate residents. Track coverage for insured residents from admission to discharge. Collaborate and cooperate with the MDS department and interdisciplinary team. Perform all other duties as assigned. Requirements/Qualifications Current NYS Licensed Registered Nurse. Clinical experience and working knowledge of insurance contracts.
