The Resource Center is seeking a Graduate Practical Nurse for its IDD Residential Services program. The nurse serves as an active member of the Interdisciplinary Team, promoting person-centered outcomes, serving as medical coordinator/advisor/liaison for consumers' medical needs, ensuring compliance with treatment plans, and mentoring LPNs and recent graduates. Responsibilities include clinical assessment, treatment, care coordination, emergency intervention, nursing documentation, infection control, and in-service training for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field with New York State RN licensure plus 1 year nursing experience, OR Associate's Degree in Nursing with New York State RN licensure plus 3 years nursing experience
  • Graduates must obtain RN licensure within 90 days of offer and work under direct supervision of licensed RN Supervisor or RN Manager
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record as established by agency's insurance carrier
  • Use of personal vehicle and willingness to travel
  • Ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds waist high
  • Professional experience in skilled nursing facility strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and applicable state and federal healthcare regulations
  • Strong organizational, time management, and verbal/written communication skills
