This role is a primarily ambulatory, clinic-based nursing position with a strong focus on patient coordination and communication. In-office procedures are minimal and limited to vaccinations and IM injections for STI treatment. The majority of the role centers on desk-based responsibilities, including patient triage, phone support, medication refills, inbox management, and coordination of care. We are seeking candidates who are comfortable in a high-volume outpatient setting and who value care coordination and patient interaction over procedural work. Prior inpatient experience and/or a background in infectious disease is strongly preferred. We’re Looking For: Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association Minimum of 1 year of RN experience is preferred. Comfortable in a primarily ambulatory, clinic-based role with minimal procedures (vaccines, IM injections) Strong in desk-based nursing: triage, patient calls, refills, inbox management, care coordination Able to manage a high-volume outpatient workload Interest in patient communication and care coordination over procedural work Inpatient experience preferred Infectious disease experience preferred What You’ll Do: As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. About This Location: Advocate Medical Group Infectious Disease in Oak Lawn is a specialty outpatient clinic focused on diagnosing and managing complex infectious diseases. The team provides expert care for chronic and complicated infections, including those related to organ transplants, while collaborating closely with hospital-based specialists to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
