About this role

Registered Nurse (RN) – Neurosurgery ICU. The NSICU provides comprehensive patient care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. NSICU is a 29-bed unit with all private rooms, three negative pressure rooms and two fully equipped nursing stations with central monitoring available on either side. Common diagnoses include subarachnoid hemorrhage, subdural hematoma, epidural hematoma, spinal cord injuries, Code Stroke, head trauma, intracranial hemorrhages, brain tumors, continuous EEG and carotid endarterectomies. The nurses specialize in utilizing the NIHSS, monitoring and manipulating external ventricular devise, subdural drains, and IRRAS. 1:2 ratio with AACN Beacon of Excellence Silver Designation. Part time, 24 hours per week, 7p-7a weekend SAT/SUN.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • At least 6 months of RN experience (not for new grads)
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
