Overview

As a vital member of the healthcare team, the registered nurse applies professional nursing skills to provide comprehensive patient care, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate.

Responsibilities include

  • Promoting evidence-based practices and developing individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Performing assessments, implementing interventions, and documenting patient progress to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Managing clinical equipment, troubleshooting issues, and providing patient education tailored to age and comprehension levels.
  • Coordinating interdisciplinary care, prioritizing tasks, and advocating for patients when necessary.
  • Ensuring patient safety by adhering to policies, safety goals, and quality standards, while participating in process improvements and performance initiatives.
  • Communicating effectively within the team and with patients, providing shift reports, and addressing patient/family needs promptly.
