Registered Nurse - Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center

*Position Overview*

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and clinically skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at a drug and alcohol treatment center. The RN will provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to individuals experiencing substance use disorders and withdrawal, with a focus on patient safety, stabilization, dignity, and recovery.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced treatment environment, has strong assessment and critical-thinking skills, and is committed to providing nonjudgmental, patient-centered care.

*Key Responsibilities*

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in a detoxification and substance use treatment setting.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and monitor patients for changes in physical, mental, and emotional status.
• Monitor patients for signs and symptoms of alcohol and/or substance withdrawal and promptly communicate changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare providers.
• Administer medications, treatments, and other interventions in accordance with provider orders, facility policies, and applicable regulations.
• Follow established detoxification and withdrawal-management protocols while maintaining patient safety.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition, including potential medical or psychiatric emergencies.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, counselors, behavioral health professionals, and other members of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized patient care plans.
• Provide patient education regarding medications, withdrawal management, treatment recommendations, recovery, and continuing-care/aftercare plans.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation of assessments, medications, interventions, patient responses, and other required clinical information.
• Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for patients throughout the treatment process.
• Maintain professional boundaries and protect patient confidentiality in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and facility policies.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and members of the treatment team.
• Perform other nursing and clinical duties as assigned.

*Qualifications & Requirements*

• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Previous experience in detoxification, substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, emergency care, or a related setting is preferred.
• Strong understanding of substance withdrawal, including the ability to recognize signs and symptoms requiring further medical evaluation.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to safely administer medications and follow established treatment protocols.
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Compassionate, professional, and nonjudgmental approach to individuals experiencing substance use disorders.
• Ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation and meet all applicable regulatory and facility requirements.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

*Pay:* Starting at $48.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.

• Full-time and part-time opportunities available. Days, evenings, weekend, and holiday availability may be required based on program needs.

Candidates must be able to reliably commute to or relocate to Ludlow, MA before beginning employment.
