Job Summary and Qualifications
The Quality Nurse Coordinator coordinates and facilitates Quality/Peer Review Committee in conjunction with the VP of Quality and Rick Management. The Coordinator is responsible for ongoing medical record review to support Peer Review activities for Medical and Nursing Staff. This role handles coordination of data collection processes for Medical Staff and Nursing Peer Review activities.
What you will do in this role
Perform timely and accurate data collection via concurrent and retrospective clinical medical record reviews. Participate in Root Cause Analysis/Event Analysis of internal error reports when indicated. Review and analyze AHRQ PSI IQI reports and CHOIS reports as indicated.
Facilitate Peer Review, including committee activities. Identify needs and opportunities for improvement based on outcomes data and communicates findings in a timely manner to VP of Quality and Risk Management. Establish good working relationships with Medical Staff and Facility Staff.
Participate in Performance Improvement activities to assure continuous Quality Improvement. Responsible for quarterly COMET verification. Perform monthly mortality review.
Assist with other quality initiatives and performs targeted/focused performance review as requested. Provide timely notification to Corporate and Division management of any facility surveys by any third-party agencies. Responsible for uploading and dissemination of reports from CMS through the Hospital Quality Reporting Portal.
Assist Director of Patient Safety in managing and analyzing clinical risk data and in the reporting and presentation as needed. Participate on committees directed toward promoting Patient Safety issues. Assist with the investigation and analysis of known and potential patient safety issues.
Work closely with the VP of Quality and Risk Management to ensure compliance with statutory mandates, regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
What qualifications you will need
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee or compact state required. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. 4 years of clinical experience required. 2 years of QA/PI experience preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
