ResponsibilitiesPrepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary supplies, equipment, and instruments are sterile, functional, and ready for use in accordance with aseptic technique standards. Act as the central communication hub during surgeries, relaying information between surgeons, anesthesiologists, scrub nurses, and other team members to promote efficient workflow.

Monitor patient status continuously before, during, and after procedures by assessing vital signs and responding promptly to any changes or emergencies. Assist in positioning patients safely on the operating table while adhering to safety protocols for various types of surgeries, including ophthalmology, gynecology, podiatry and pain management. Document all surgical activities accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as SIS, including patient assessments, intraoperative events, and post-operative instructions.

Manage specimen collection and processing with precision to ensure accurate laboratory testing results. Support infection control protocols rigorously to maintain a sterile environment throughout all procedures. Support ancillary departments such as pre-operative and post-operative care, pre-admission testing/evaluations as needed.

Engage in quality support and excellence with leadership and peers. Other duties as assigned within scope of practice. ExperienceProven experience as an Operating Room Circulating Nurse or similar role within a hospital or outpatient surgical setting.

Extensive knowledge of aseptic technique, sterile processing, and OR equipment management. Familiarity with a wide range of surgical procedures including minimally invasive techniques like laparoscopic surgery. Hands-on experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as SIS or EPIC for documentation and patient data management.

Critical care experience or ICU background is highly desirable to handle complex cases involving acute pain management. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and diagnostic evaluation processes relevant to perioperative care. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast paced environments while maintaining excellent patient care standards.
