About this role

Primary Duties and Responsibilities The Clinic Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing services to patients in an outpatient setting. This role performs nursing assessments in providing direct and indirect patient care, provides health advice, patient and family education, and may handle phone triage. Provides detailed evaluation of patient symptoms to determine urgency of situation, facilitates next steps in patient care, and provides medical advice on treating symptoms.

Utilizes the nursing process based on research and evidence-based outcomes to meet patient care needs. Administers medications, collects specimen, and performs nursing procedures within scope of practice. Documents all nursing services provided.

Collaborates with other members of the health care team to ensure the delivery of quality patient care and when facing ethical or legal issues. Facilitates appropriate utilization of healthcare resources. Enhances the patient experience.

Provides services in compliance with all applicable regulatory and professional standards, including the California Nurse Practice Act. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required

Successful completion of a nursing program Basic keyboarding skills basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel

Preferred

  • One (1) year clinical nursing experience preferably in an ambulatory care setting
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing
  • Knowledge of registration and order entry systems
  • Knowledge of patient scheduling and insurance verification and authorization

License Required

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in good standing in the State of California

Certifications Required

Current BLS Certification

HHC HB 19582 Obgyn, HSC HHC NB 500 Obgyn & HSC IRV Barranca 4870 Obgyn: AFHM – Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring Course certification required as designated by Manager.
