Perched at the transitional edge of the Mojave Desert and the Colorado Plateau, St. George offers healthcare workers an outdoor playground defined by red rock canyons, sandstone bluffs, and over 300 days of annual sunshine. For relocating nurses, clinical work is paired with rapid access to world-class scenery: Zion National Park sits about 45 minutes east, while Snow Canyon State Park and Sand Hollow Reservoir are within an easy drive for weekend trail runs, boating, or mountain biking. Neighborhoods like Little Valley and central Washington provide convenient, family-friendly bases near main transit arteries like Interstate 15, keeping typical drive times under twenty minutes. Off-shift hours can be spent browsing the galleries of Kayenta Art Village, attending outdoor Broadway productions at Tuacahn Amphitheatre, or dining downtown at George's Corner and Painted Pony. However, adapting requires navigating clear tradeoffs: summers are scorching with temperatures routinely passing 100°F, nightlife is quiet, and rapid regional expansion has intensified traffic and elevated housing demand relative to local pay. For those who prioritize sunshine and canyon adventures, St. George offers an enviable desert lifestyle.
