Job Summary
Green Acres Healthcare Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a temporary, travel-based assignment. This position involves providing private duty care in the home setting, with a strong preference for candidates experienced in tracheostomy care, mouth/oral suctioning, and ventilator-dependent patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning
- Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure)
- Assist with feeding and monitor nutritional/fluid intake as directed
- Perform light housekeeping related to client care (changing linens, tidying care areas)
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care provided
- Follow the individualized care plan and all agency policies and procedures
- Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA
- Perform tracheostomy care and mouth/oral suctioning as needed
- Monitor and manage ventilator-dependent patients, including troubleshooting equipment and responding to alarms
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate care needs appropriately
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with HFRD regulations
- Communicate effectively with family members, physicians, and the care team
- Travel to assignment location(s) as required for this position
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Georgia RN license (or compact license valid in Georgia)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Experience with tracheostomy care and suctioning preferred
- Experience with ventilator-dependent patients strongly preferred
- Willingness and ability to travel for this assignment
- Reliable transportation
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient demeanor
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Current TB test/PPD and up-to-date immunizations
