Overview

* BrightStar Care is seeking a proactive, reliable, highly adaptable, and detail-oriented HHA (Home Health Aide) or CNA as our Field Support Specialist - to join our dynamic team. This unique role combines hands-on client care along with essential office support responsibilities. Approximately 50% of the role is spent in the field providing direct care to clients in their homes, and the other 50% is spent in the office supporting our scheduling team and administrative operations.

Training will be provided on all office systems and procedures to ensure success in both client care and administrative responsibilities. You will be trained on all priority one clients in the field. Must have driver's license, auto insurance, and comfortable with driving within the service area.

Must commit to a 40-hour work week, Monday-Friday, with occassional/flexible availability for the weekends.

*Responsibilities (2-part: Client Care and Administrative)*

_Client Care Responsibilities for HHA Field Support Specialist:_

• Provide high quality, compassionate care to clients in their homes.
• Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring, and ambulation.
• Support clients with meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, and companionship.
• Accompany clients to appointments or outings as needed.
• Monitor and report changes in client condition, behavior, or needs.
• Collaborate with the RN Case Manager to ensure accurate and timely updates to the care plan.
• Provide on-site support and guidance to other Home Health Aides (HHAs) during patient visits, ensuring adherence to care plans and safety protocols.
• Assist with training and mentoring HHAs on patient observation, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), and proper documentation procedures.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to monitor patient progress, report concerns, and ensure comprehensive care delivery.

_Office Support/Administrative Responsibilities for HHA Field Support Specialist:_

• Answer incoming calls and assist with intake inquiries.
• Enter call logger notes and assist with light scheduling tasks.
• Upload, rename, and organize documents.
• Shred documents and maintain office organization.
• Prepare and send birthday cards and create in-home care packets.
• Audit employee files and assist with administrative projects as assigned.
• Coordinate scheduling, supplies, and resources needed for home visits to optimize efficiency and quality of care.

*Requirements for HHA Field Support Specialist:*

• Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments with a focus on senior or patient care.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, hospice care practices, dementia care, and memory care techniques.
• Hands-on experience with medical procedures including CPR certification, catheter care, vital signs measurement, and medication administration.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical documentation standards.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized attention.
• Excellent communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to caregiving.
• Prior long-term care experience is highly desirable; experience working in home & community care settings is a plus.
• Valid CPR certification; ability to handle physical tasks such as Hoyer lift usage and assisting with mobility needs.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism while managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
