*Position Overview* Van Buren County Hospital is seeking an experienced *Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)* to join our surgical services team on a PRN basis.
As a Critical Access Hospital, this role offers more than a traditional operating room position. In addition to providing perioperative nursing care as a circulating and/or scrub nurse, you'll also support our *Outpatient Treatment Center*, providing services such as wound care and infusion therapy. If you enjoy variety and the opportunity to utilize a broad range of nursing skills, this may be the perfect fit.

- Provide perioperative nursing care in accordance with established surgical protocols
- Function as a circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse based on training and assignment
- Maintain and enforce principles of surgical asepsis and sterile technique
- Prepare operating rooms, equipment, instruments, and supplies for surgical procedures
- Position patients appropriately to prevent injury, pressure points, or skin breakdown
- Perform and document required sponge, needle, and instrument counts
- Obtain medications, supplies, and equipment during procedures as needed
- Monitor patient condition and communicate relevant information to the surgical team
- Coordinate with anesthesia, surgeons, and support staff to ensure safe and efficient procedures
- Provide nursing care in the wound/treatment room during scheduled or periodic rotation, including dress
