About this role
The Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing the nursing department in the coordination of care, quality of interventions and outcomes, and financial management of clinical services. The role interacts with each department within the facility and requires a leader who can lead, motivate, educate and mentor licensed and certified staff. Responsibilities include planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing the overall operations of the Nursing Services department in accordance with current state and federal laws and regulations; interpreting and communicating policies and procedures to nursing staff; participating in admission decisions and management team meetings; evaluating work performance of nursing personnel; participating in QAPI and committee activities; ensuring delivery of compassionate quality care; collaborating with interdisciplinary team; overseeing nursing schedules; participating in recruitment, hiring and termination of nursing personnel; conducting observations of nursing care; monitoring infection control program; and participating in budget development for the nursing department.
