Job Duties/

Responsibilities

• Communicate specific patient information through receiving and giving shift report including, but not limited to, patients diagnosis, treatment plan issues, specific behaviors, medical issues, special precautions.
• Make patient assignments taking into account staff capabilities and patient needs.
• Assesses each patient daily and documents in progress notes. Reviews flow sheet and documents behaviors noted.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with a diploma or an associate degree, B. S. N. preferred.

• Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state of Missouri.

• Knowledge of Professional Nursing.

• Knowledge of adolescent and child behaviors and knowledge of nursing interventions that are appropriate for the treatment of children and adolescents in need of psychiatric care, preferred.

• Experience in the psychiatric treatment of children and an adolescent is preferred.
