Role Overview
The registered nurse provides direct and indirect patient care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve outcomes. They utilize critical thinking, nursing processes, and compassionate care to restore health while respecting patient autonomy and dignity.
Key Responsibilities
Assess patients accurately based on their medical conditions. Administer prescribed medications and perform treatments suited to patient age and condition. Develop and evaluate patient education plans, involving families as needed. Assist physicians with procedures and utilize technical skills effectively. Address psychosocial needs of patients and coordinate post-discharge care with social services. Practice cost-effectiveness and ensure patient safety by minimizing risks. Prioritize and deliver efficient, quality care with a focus on safety and lifelong learning.
Qualifications & Skills
Graduate of an accredited nursing program. RN licensure and BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS preferred. Computer literacy is necessary.
