Building Location: Baxter Clinic Department: 4301550 URGENT CARE - BAX Job Description: Essentia Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse or Certified Medical Assistant to serve in urgent care at our Baxter Clinic in Baxter, Minnesota. This LPN or CMA works 32 hours weekly. A $2500 sign-on incentive is available for this position. Education Qualifications: Education as required for licensure. We are like nowhere else: https://vimeo.com/284233541 What You'll Do: Assists RN, Physician and other providers and provides direct patient care in the ambulatory care setting to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health. Will perform identified procedures for which competencies have been demonstrated. Cares for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted on age-related category. Key roles and responsibilities include: Patient Care and Monitoring: Perform routine assessments such as measuring vital signs, recording patient histories, and observing symptoms to assist in diagnosing and monitoring patient health. Assisting with Procedures: Support physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures by preparing equipment, assisting with patient positioning, and ensuring proper infection control. Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications, including injections and oral drugs, and monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects, ensuring accurate documentation. Coordination of Care: Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans and assist in coordinating follow-up appointments and referrals. Patient Intake and Preparation: Conduct initial patient intake processes, including gathering medical histories, updating personal information, and preparing patients for examination or diagnostic testing. CMA: current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant OR verifiable completion of a Medical Assistant Program and must become certified within one year of date of hire. Must pass certification within two attempts. BOTH: AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 3 months of hire.
