The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in accordance with the Florida State Board of Nursing and TGH policies. This role provides comprehensive clinical assessments, coordinates patient care with interdisciplinary and ancillary staff, and maintains effective communication with physicians to ensure safe and seamless care delivery. The RN serves as a clinical and emotional resource for the care team, offering guidance for complex cases and contributing to optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities include patient education, care management support, accurate documentation, and adherence to clinical protocols to uphold departmental standards, patient safety, and an exceptional patient experience
Essential Functions
Perform comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments to determine patient needs and identify care barriers.
Coordinate patient care with physicians, ancillary staff, and other team members to ensure continuity and high-quality outcomes.
Serve as a clinical and emotional resource for staff, providing guidance on complex patient situations.
Manage patient medication profiles and communicate lab and diagnostic results efficiently to providers.
Complete triage tasks, in-basket messages, care management activities, and wellness visit support as needed.
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and care plans to promote understanding and self-management.
Accurately document nursing assessments, treatments, and patient responses within the electronic medical record.
Identify gaps in care and participate in quality improvement efforts to support team performance metrics.
Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment by following all clinical, emergency, and infection-control protocols.
Support and enhance the overall patient experience by demonstrating compassionate care, professionalism, and service excellence.
Associate's degree in nursing
