Part-Time Licensed Nurse (RN or LPN) – Nevada Assisted Living & Nevada Extended Living
Looking for a nurse who wants to make a real difference without 12-hour shifts? Nevada Assisted Living and Nevada Extended Living are two small, family-style communities in Nevada, MO. We’re hiring one licensed nurse to cover both buildings, 16–20 hours a week, on a schedule you help set.
You’ll be the clinical eyes for our residents. You’ll know them by name, catch changes early, and keep our care team, our administrator and each resident’s physician on the same page. Our team takes ownership of their work and takes pride in doing it right. If that sounds like you, we’d like to meet you.
What you’ll do
\* Monitor each resident’s condition and medications
\* Review resident charts, records, medications, special diets and physician orders
\* Check on how each resident is adjusting to the community
\* Observe each resident’s physical, psychosocial and mental status, and assess pain or sudden changes in condition
\* Report concerns to the resident’s physician, family, or representatives
\* Give injections, and train residents to give themselves insulin when ordered
\* Review phone and verbal orders that medication aides take, before the first dose is given
\* Check medications that residents bring in, help reconcile controlled-substance counts, and witness the destruction of unused or expired medications
\* Complete flu and pneumonia vaccine screenings
\* Teach occasional classes such as 1-hour safe-transfer training for caregivers, and initial transfer training as needed
\* RN candidates: do medication regimen reviews and controlled-substance record reviews, approve stock over-the-counter medications, and review modified diets
What you need
\* A current, unencumbered Missouri RN or LPN license, or a multistate compact license. RN preferred.
\* Assisted living, residential care or long-term care experience is a plus
\* Strong assessment, documentation and communication skills
\* A self-starter who can manage their own time across two buildings
\* Physically and emotionally able to work in a long-term care setting
Conditions of employment
\* Criminal background check and Missouri Employee Disqualification List (EDL) check before any contact with residents
\* No disqualifying felony convictions and no controlled-substance convictions, as Missouri regulations require
\* TB screening
\* Orientation on or before your first day, including fire safety and dementia care training
Why join us
\* Part-time weekday hours with a flexible schedule
\* Small communities where you get to know residents and staff
\* A direct line to leadership, where your ideas get heard and acted on
