Duties and

Responsibilities

Assesses patients prior to provision of care. Provides ongoing assessment of the patient and patient’s equipment needs. Initiates timely discharges.

Educates and instructs the patient, patient’s family, or staff as required; counsels patient and family in meeting patient’s needs and goals. Prepares timely, legible, and complete documentation of all care, interventions, and care coordination as provided by law, regulation, and established policy; returns documentation to the office/department according to established policy. Demonstrates an awareness of and sensitivity to patient/family rights.

Applies safety principles as identified by established policy. Participates in the orientation and training of new staff. Participates in care coordination meetings.

Participates in continuing education to continually improve skills and abilities and stay abreast of current technologies/practices. Ensures compliance with legal issues, including but not limited to patient confidentiality and risk management; ensures compliance with ACHC/HIT, federal, state, and local regulations. Exhibits a high degree of courtesy, tact, and poise when interacting with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.

Adjusts to fluctuating peaks in patient flow, acuity, and other operational demands while maintaining quality. Participate in the Performance Improvement program as requested by the Performance Improvement Coordinator. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Must possess a current Arizona RN license. Must possess a current BLS certification. Minimum of one year related experience or equivalent; infusion nursing experience is preferred.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and auto insurance. Proof of TB screening. Demonstrated competence in reacting to and handling emergencies.

Strong charting/documentation skills. Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and protocols. Commitment to excellence and high standards Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills Ability to manage priorities and workflow Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm Acute attention to detail Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees Strong interpersonal skills.

Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions Creative, flexible, and innovative team player Bilingual skills are a plus. Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
