About this role

The Registered Nurse PPOP PACU provides nursing care and service during the preoperative and postoperative periods, integrating and making nursing judgments pertaining to the patient's condition on a routine and emergency basis. The position oversees the supervision of all non-licensed personnel, while also receiving direction from Physicians. Essential duties include monitoring and assessing patient condition, completing treatments and procedures as ordered, providing care safely, admitting patients to pre and post-operative and post-anesthesia services, setting up and operating medical equipment, administering medication, providing instruction and counseling to patients and families, and maintaining documentation.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred from a nationally accredited nursing program
  • 2-4 years Registered Nurse experience in PACU, ICU or ER required; 4-6 years of experience preferred
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana required
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • PALS certification preferred
  • PACU experience
  • Patient monitoring systems
