About this role

Primary Responsibilities Include: Monitor patient's medical and psychiatric condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care.
Observe and interpret patient's symptoms and communicate with MD/NP. Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients. Communicate effectively with a variety of individuals and function calmly in situations which require a high degree of sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy.
Perform routine procedures (vital signs, accu checks, assess pain, administering injections etc.) and document in patients' charts. Adjust and administer patient's medication and provide treatments according to physician's orders. Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, PPE etc.).
Provide prompt, efficient, and responsive service. Understand and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information. Implementing evidence-based practices.
Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Supervise and/or train LPNs, PCTs or CNAs. Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families.

Requirements
- RN license
- Active and unrestricted Registered License in Illinois
- Experience in Mental Health, Eating Disorder and/or Substance use preferred
- Proficiency in applying compliance standards, procedures and techniques is required with patient care
- Understand and remain compliant with HIPAA regulations
- Understand and abide by SUPR (DASA) requirements as it relates to patient care regarding substance use
- Strong professional attitude and ability to work with and communicate effectively with all staff
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Professional nursing principles, procedures, and techniques used in the care and treatment of psychiatric patients
