As a Registered Nurse with 5 West Med-Surg, you’ll be part of a team that places priority on patient safety, quality of care and staff safety at the only full-service hospital in Cary, North Carolina. Why Join 5 West Med-Surg 40-bed unit RN-to-patient ratio of 1:4 Nurse Tech ratio of 1:8 Strong leadership support from unit and executive teams Collaborative team culture where teamwork is fundamental Magnet-designated nursing environment with a strong nursing voice What You’ll Do Provide total comprehensive nursing to patients and their families through the implementation of a plan of care. Provide care for a diverse patient population, including trauma related injuries, bariatric surgery, total joint surgery, general surgery, neuro/spine surgery, and oncology patients Participate in bedside shift reports and purposeful hourly rounding Conduct multiple disciplinary rounds for discharge progresses Prioritize patient safety and quality outcomes Unit Support & Resources Charge Nurse ICU Rounding Nurse Clinical Nurse Specialist Hospitalist Coverage Medical Intensivist Critical Care Advanced Practice Providers Scheduling & Work Life Balance Self-Scheduling 6-8 Week Schedules released 3 weeks in advance 4-12 Week orientation with a Preceptor Professional Growth Clinical ladder opportunities Nursing Professional Development Program Opportunities to pursue specialty certifications Participate in system and unit level committees including Education, Quality/Practice, Work/Life, Falls Prevention and Policy & Procedure Department Description Serving the community since 1961, WakeMed Health & Hospitals is the leading provider of health services in Wake County.
