What You Bring to SBHG (Qualifications)

Education &

Licensure

Licensure

Active, unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license (Required).

Education

Associate’s degree from an accredited school of nursing required; a Bachelor’s (BSN) or Master’s (MSN) degree in nursing is highly preferred.

Credentials: Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.

Transportation: Valid California Driver's License with an eligible driving record.

Experience

One (1) year of direct clinical experience treating individuals with mental illness.

One (1) year of supervisory or nursing leadership experience within a behavioral health facility.

Competencies & Compliance

Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage a diverse nursing team.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with clients, staff, physicians, and community partners.

Must successfully pass a mandatory background check, criminal record clearance, and drug screening.

How you will make a difference

The Nursing Department Director ensures every client receives the highest quality of nursing care, treatment, and medication as ordered by the attending physician or psychiatric nurse practitioner. This position is responsible for selecting, hiring, and supervising all Nursing Department staff, while also aiding in the development of service objectives, nursing policies, and job descriptions. The Supervisor maintains leadership that aligns with agency goals and ensures departmental adherence to all governmental and stakeholder regulations.

The role also involves participating in budget development and collaborating with both internal and external departments to facilitate smooth facility operations and optimize patient care.

Overview

Program: The Crisis Residential Treatment (CRT) is a short-term voluntary residential facility.

Population Served: Designed to help adult residents, ages 18-59, who experience a psychiatric crisis to safely stabilize, recover, and transition back to community.

Facility & Setting: Short-term voluntary residential facility, 24/7 Program

Clinical Services: Therapeutic and mental health services, Medication evaluation and support services, Crisis intervention

Length of Stay: Short-term

Skills & Transition: Pre-vocational or vocational counseling, transition back to community

Skills & Services: Rehabilitation/recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation services, Daily exercise and health/wellness education
