Youth Opportunity is a nationally recognized leader in residential and behavioral health treatment for at-risk youth. Crestview Youth Academy in Crestview, Florida, is a secure Youth Academy serving males ages 13 to 17, delivering trauma-informed care across mental health and substance abuse needs.
The program combines clinical therapy, education, restorative justice, therapeutic recreation, and life skills training. About the Role
As a Registered Nurse (RN) , you will provide compassionate, high-quality medical care to youth in a residential treatment environment. You will collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure each youth receives individualized, holistic care that promotes both physical and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications and ensure accurate documentation
- Triage illness and injuries each shift, determine medical priority, and treat within scope of practice
- Monitor and document vital signs, medical progress, and health outcomes
- Conduct required health screenings and maintain immunization compliance
- Educate youth and staff on health topics, including universal precautions and communicable disease prevention
- Provide or coordinate CPR, first aid, and other medical training for staff as required
- Maintain controlled drug records and complete shift-to-shift medication counts
- Monitor and replenish health/first aid supplies, including AED and emergency kits
- Participate in treatment team meetings to support interdisciplinary care planning
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and state healthcare regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required
- Active and unrestricted RN license in the State of Florida
- At least 2 years of professional nursing experience
- CPR certification
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Preferred
- Experience working with youth in residential, behavioral health, or correctional settings
Other Requirements
- Valid state driver’s license
- Must meet state criminal background check requirements
- Flexibility to work variable hours as needed
