Staff Nurse - Nursing Float Pool - Adult Intermediate Care Tier 2 Day Shifts

All qualified applicants are eligible for a sign on incentive of up to $10,000 University of Iowa Health Care is seeking skilled staff nurses for their Nursing Float Pool (Tier 2) — also known as the Enterprise Staffing Pool — for Adult Intermediate Care Services. These staff nurses will circulate several services to cover intermediate care units at University of Iowa Health Care University Campus, UI Health Care Downtown Campus, and UI Health Care North Liberty Campus. Key Areas of Responsibility: Applies nursing theory to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses to health and illness Assesses patient health care preferences and expectations Collaboratively coordinates the continuum of care across settings Develops patient care plan based on patient condition, age, and psychological, educational, and socioeconomic conditions that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes Implements patient care plan according to patient priorities, which includes interventions identified through nursing diagnoses. Documents/reports interventions and patient/family response Collaborates and integrates contributions of patients and families into multidisciplinary patient care plan Develops, coordinates and implements transfer/discharge planning throughout episode of care Implements nursing interventions according to department, division, and/or unit policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. Follows universal precautions Just in time assignments (cover sign offs, census flexing) Anticipated 4-12 hours in an area Able to potentially float within one campus every 4 hours Holiday and weekend requirements Float within specialty between MCU, MCD and MCNL campuses Percent of Time: 50% - 90%, 20 - 36 hours per week Schedule: Day shifts with holiday and weekend requirements Location: Iowa City, IA SEIU Pay Plan: PD20 https://hr.uiowa.edu/pay/pay-plans/seiu-pay-plan.
