- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Prescribe medications and monitor their effectiveness while managing potential side effects.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care post-treatment.
- Stay updated on the latest research and advancements in psychiatric care.
*Requirements*
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or equivalent.
- Current NY state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with certification in psychiatric nursing.
- 2 years experiense working as an independent psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
- Experience working with treatment resistant depression preferred.
- Familiarity with medical documentation practices and standards.
- Prior enrollment with major insurance companies is a plus.
- Experience or knowledge in family medicine is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Commitment to providing compassionate care to diverse patient populations.
- Professional liability insurance
- Must have 3,600 hours of collaborating MD experience
