Responsibilities
- Contribute to input used in formulating the patient care plan based on assessments and team input.
- Attend weekly clinical staffing and review of patient treatment plans.
- Directly educate patients and families about medications and treatment options.
- Ensure emotional and mental observations are reported to medical and clinical staff and documented accurately in the patient chart.
- Lead teaching and educational groups on the APU schedule.
- Train LPNs and MHTs in charting, vital signs, patient routines, proper vital signs and de-escalation techniques.
- Participate as an active member of a Performance Improvement (PI) team or other unit task forces.
- Accept appropriate lectures, educational, or marketing assignments as directed by the Manager.
- Maintain Therapeutic Options certification up to date.
- Serve as a positive, professional role model for patients and coworkers.
Requirements
- Current Oklahoma RN license (active)
- Minimum of 2 years in psychiatric/behavioral health experience (required)
Certifications
NIH and BLS (AHA) required
- De-escalation training preferred
- Ability to work in an inpatient behavioral health setting
- Recent traveler experience preferred
