About this role

*Job Summary* We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Compliance Coordinator to join our home health team. In this role, you will serve as the clinical compliance backbone of our agency, ensuring that all patient charts, documentation, and care coordination for skilled licensed cases meet the standards set by our governing and regulatory bodies. You will work closely with our clinical and administrative teams to uphold the highest standards of patient care and regulatory compliance.

  • Conduct thorough reviews of patient charts to ensure clinical documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Cross-reference clinical records with plans of care, physician orders, and visit documentation to verify consistency and completeness.
  • Monitor patient charts to ensure current regulatory requirements and agency policies are reflected in documentation, including OASIS assessments, care plans, and progress notes.
  • Ensure that all documentation for skilled nursing, therapy, and other licensed services meets the standards of CMS, state health departments, and applicable accrediting bodies.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff (RNs, LPNs, therapists) to address documentation deficiencies, provide education, and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct ongoing internal audits and quality assurance reviews to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement in clinical documentation.
  • Stay current with changes to home health regulations, conditions of participation, and payer-specific documentation requirements.
  • Assist with survey readiness and participate in state and accreditation surveys as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Director and Quality Assurance / Performance Improvement (QAPI) committee on compliance initiatives and corrective action plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, audit results, and follow-up actions.

*Qualifications* *Required:*

  • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
  • Minimum of 1 years of clinical nursing experience
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

*Preferred:*

  • Strong knowledge of home health regulations, including CMS Conditions of Participation, state licensure requirements, and Medicare/Medicaid billing and documentation standards.
  • Experience in compliance, quality assurance, or QAPI within a home health or healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with OASIS-E assessment processes and documentation best practices.
  • Prior experience preparing for or participating in state surveys or accreditation reviews (The Joint Commission).
