About this role

Sampson Regional Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Surgical Services Unit!

The selected applicant will assess, plan, implement, and document professional nursing care to the post anesthetic patient. Does pre-post procedural assessments with instructions for the ambulatory surgical, Lithotripsy and cardiac catheterization patients. Evaluates and revises the plan of care specific to age that is being administered by herself and other health care team.

Continuously observes and assesses the patient for untoward effects communicating to the physician and taking appropriate measure, to maintain and/or stabilize patient status. Assumes responsibility for the supervision, management and activities of the unit in the absence of the nurse manager. Cross training to all areas of surgical services including the operating room

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and licensed by the North Carolina Board of Nursing required BLS required Two (2) years of perioperative experience preferred Must be dependable, flexible and committed to providing outstanding patient care

Hours

Working hours are generally 7:00 am - 3:00 pm, Monday - Friday plus assigned call rotation. May be required to work other hours for the effective operation of the department.
