LVN – Sisters of Mercy Auburn Campus. Position Details: • Pay Range: $30 – $40/hour • Auburn, CA Hours: 6am- 2:30pm or 2:00pm - 10:30pm The Sisters of Mercy are seeking compassionate and dependable LPN/LVNs to join our caring community team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a peaceful, home convent environment caring for retired Sisters who have spent their lives in service to others. This is not a hospital setting and not a traditional nursing home. Our community allows for a sustainable workload, meaningful relationships with residents, and the opportunity to provide care with dignity, respect, and compassion. Responsibilities Include: Incorporates an understanding of the Mercy mission and values into work performance Gives direct nursing care including ordering and dispensing medications, filling medi-sets, treatments, procedures, verifying and implementing doctor’s orders, providing health maintenance. Maintains accurate medication records and assists as needed in constructing and maintaining the record for dispensing medications. Team Communication: Serves as a communication link between shifts, and with the Nurse Manager. Works with Sister Life Ministers, Administration Staff, Spiritual Care Coordinator, Volunteers and others to ensure quality of care for resident Sisters. Maintains written health care records. Give guidance and assistance to Care Assistants. Attends and participates in Our Lady of Lourdes staff meetings, in-services, and care conferences. In the event of an emergency, takes the initiative and responds appropriately. Demonstrates knowledge of infection control standards, including universal precautions. May be required to drive on occasion. Performs other activities related to nursing care of the residents in collaboration with the Nurse Manager. Qualifications: Required: Diploma from an accredited school of nursing. LVN license from the State of California. Current CPR certification for health care providers. Must possess a valid California Driver’s License without any moving violations. Demonstrates competent nursing skills appropriate to license. Ability to relate well with the elderly. Ability to work well as a team member. Demonstrates the ability to take initiative when appropriate. Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills Freedom from illegal use of drugs and freedom from use and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace. Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting, or mistreating individuals in a healthcare setting are ineligible for employment in this position. Successfully complete pre-employment requirements, including a physical, drug test, tb test if required, MVR report, previous employment, current employment, references and background check. Preferred: Experience in Geriatric Nursing. Understanding and appreciation of the traditions and culture associated with the Sisters of Mercy.
