**Exciting Opportunity on our Medical-Surgical Units:** Our Medical-Surgical units are designed to cater to patients recovering from surgeries, managing chronic illnesses, and undergoing complex treatments, with low patient-to-nurse ratios, ensuring personalized care.
- **5E: Mixed Medical/Surgical Unit:** Specializes in comprehensive care for a diverse range of medical and surgical patients. This unit is ideal for nurses who enjoy variety in their work.
- **6E: Cardiac Care Medical/Surgical Unit:** Specializes in acute and chronic cardiac conditions within a general medical/surgical setting. Team members work closely with the hospital medicine team to care for patients with heart disease, heart failure, and those recovering from cardiac procedures.
- **7E: Post-Surgical Care and Oncology Medical/Surgical Unit:** Offers a unique blend of post-surgical recovery and oncology/chemotherapy care. Our skilled team supports patients through the critical phases following surgery and provides specialized care to those undergoing cancer treatment.
**Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse duties include, but are not limited to, the following**:
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age-specific components.
- Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
- Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.
- Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Provides competent, evidence-based care to assigned patients with oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants as appropriate to the setting.
- Assists in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and outcomes utilization.
- Partners with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team to promote effective and safe transitions across the health care continuum.
