Our nurses in our Cardiothoracic Surgery Step-down Units exemplify professional practice through continuing education, innovation, research and multidisciplinary team collaboration to provide patient-centered care that promotes quality and best outcomes for our patients. These units see the most complex cardiac cases worldwide. The J61/J63 nursing units for Cardiothoracic Surgery Step-down are part of Cleveland Clinic’s Heart, Vascular and Thoracic institute. Since 1995, Cleveland Clinic has been recognized as one of the top hospitals for Cardiology in the country.
As a Registered Nurse in our J63 Cardiothoracic Surgery Step-Down Unit, you will become familiar with complex medical histories, innovative surgical procedures, pain modalities, and comprehensive nutritional support.
Your primary duties will include but are not limited to
- Providing direct nursing care.
- Monitoring, recording, and communicating patients’ conditions as appropriate.
- Preparing patient care plans.
- Administering prescribed medications.
