Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for patients of all ages, including children and seniors.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications while monitoring efficacy and side effects in accordance with best practices.
• Provide psychotherapy services and behavioral health interventions tailored to patient needs.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Document patient encounters accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks.
• Assist in clinical research initiatives related to mental health treatments and pharmacology.
• Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, medication administration, and lifestyle modifications to promote wellness.

*Requirements*

• Valid licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with certification in psychiatric or behavioral health specialties.
• Proven experience in behavioral health settings with familiarity in acute pain management, trauma centers (Level I/II), or hospital medicine environments.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostic evaluation procedures, and pharmacology related to psychopharmacology.
• Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics (including neonatal intensive care units), geriatrics, assisted living residents, or individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; telehealth experience is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical assessment skills with the ability to perform physical examinations and vital signs monitoring.
• Familiarity with CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), and utilization review processes for documentation accuracy and compliance.
• Additional skills such as suturing, IV infusion administration, sterile technique, infection control practices, and knowledge of Workers’ Compensation law are advantageous.
