About this role
Summary
Provides professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients. Prepares equipment and assists the physician during examinations and treatments. Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors patient vital signs. Observes and maintains records on patient care, condition, reaction, and progress.
Responsibilities
Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Participates as primary nurse, associate nurse, team member, or team leader in the planning and implementation of patient care. Directs and assists in carrying out safe aseptic technique and procedures. Offers leadership and direction to all support staff within the department. Ability to accept scheduling/placement designations determined prior to hire. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education/Skills
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Able to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care
Experience
A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
- Current Louisiana State RN License
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS provider certification required within 30 days of employment
- PALS certification preferred
- SAMA required
