Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for ICU patients, including monitoring hemodynamics, ventilator management, and responding to acute changes in patient status.
- Administer medications and therapies per physician orders, with careful consideration of dosing, contraindications, and safety checks.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Document care, assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the EHR; communicate changes to the care team promptly.
- Ensure high standards of infection control, patient safety, and adherence to protocols; participate in rounding, handoffs, and care coordination with families.
Responsibilities (continued)
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as appropriate within the ICU scope; prepare patients and families for transitions when needed.
- Demonstrate professional communication and critical thinking during emergencies and code situations; participate in ongoing quality improvement and safety initiatives.
Requirements
- Active California RN license (CA RN License) required.
Certifications
AHA BLS and ACLS required.
Experience
Minimum 3 years of ICU experience; must have worked in an ICU specialty recently.
Education
BSN preferred.
- Additional: Ability to work nights in an acute care ICU setting; eligible for travel assignment; must be able to submit required information as part of application (including requested start date, RTO, SSN, and DOB).
